The archive is used to store temporarily unused fields and tests that can be later restored or moved to the recycle bin (deleted). The storage period is unlimited. The archive workspace has two tabs:
Put a field into the archive:
Considering that fields can change over time, SmartSoil supports multiple versions of a field boundary, each with its own validity period. The validity period of a boundary version starts on the date specified when this boundary is added to the field and continues until the validity period of the next boundary version added to the same field begins.
The history of field boundary versions is displayed on the «Fields list» page instead of the geographical map. For each boundary version, the start date of its validity is indicated, as well as its area and perimeter. Additionally, each boundary version is displayed on a separate geographical map with moving and zooming operations available.
The «Compaction tests» page allows to browse tests received from all of the organization's penetrometers. The workspace of this page contains a geographical map and a list of all tests conducted by a specific penetrometer for the selected time period.
1. Select one or several fields in the list.
The field compaction map is a set of images (layers) that display compaction values for each centimeter layer of soil. The compaction map is generated when a test is created (during the processing of penetrations data received from the penetrometer) and can contain up to 60 images, depending on the penetration depth achieved in that test.
The «Fields list» page stores boundaries of the organization fields and allows to perform various actions with these fields: grouping, exporting to a file, archiving, and deletion. One can also browse and manage the field boundaries' versions.
Create groups and put fields from the «All objects» department into them:
This page describes the procedure for adding a new version of a field boundary.
This operation supports KML (Google) and Shapefile (ESRI) file formats.
If penetrations that performed in the same field were included in different tests during processing by SmartSoil, these tests can be merged. Merging is available for any two tests in the list that meet the following criteria:
In some cases, it may be necessary to recalculate a created test. For example, if the field had not yet been added to SmartSoil before the penetrations were transferred from the penetrometer, then perform the recalculation to link the test to this field:
The recycle bin is used to temporarily store deleted fields and tests that can be restored within 7 days after deletion. If the object (field or test) has not been restored, it will be automatically and permanently deleted. The recycle bin workspace has two tabs:
This page describes the procedure for replacing the current version of a field boundary.

The «Soil analysis» page allows to analyze the soil compaction for all of the organization's fields with linked tests at once. The workspace of this page contains a geographical map and a fields list of the organization without grouping.
The workspace of the compaction test detail page contains a geographical map and a list of penetrations included in the test.
